About

In this project, we aim to realize huge Hilbert spaces and their controllable testbeds through large-scale photonic quantum circuits, and to achieve and understand quantum states with complex multi-particle quantum correlations that go beyond the conventional concept of "quantum entanglement"—referred to as transcendent quantum correlated states.

The purpose is to realize extreme quantum entangled states, such as entangled photon pairs in the unexplored deep ultraviolet to visible spectral regions, and to explore and implement new quantum information processing beyond the quantum Turing machine paradigm, as well as unexplored quantum sensing, by making full use of “super quantum entangled states” (i.e., transcendent quantum correlation + extreme quantum entanglement) and novel estimation and control methods.

As part of our activities, we will also promote collaboration and cooperation among ERATO researchers and those from domestic and international institutions. To this end, we will accept young researchers from overseas and strategically hold area meetings jointly with partner institutions in the United States and Europe. Furthermore, we will actively organize symposia and other events at various academic societies in Japan to share and discuss the outcomes of this research.

We aim to create a new academic trend of “super quantum entanglement”, while fostering the development of young top researchers who will be active on the international stage.
